Audio-sync Playback is Distorted
If the audio playback for audio-sync (ambient room recording) sounds distorted, your computer may require a multimedia update from Microsoft. Obtaining this update will require a high-speed Internet connection, or you may order an updates CD from Microsoft for a small shipping and handling fee.
Before starting the steps below, make sure you have a backup of all your important files. The following steps will make update your Windows system files. As with any procedure of this type, there is always a chance that a previously undetected problem with your computer system may surface. ProCAT Technical Support recommends making backups of all your job files and personal dictionary on a weekly basis.
Please follow the steps below to download and install Microsoft DirectX 9.0b update:

Close out of all open programs.

Connect to the Internet.

Go to Start, Programs (or All Programs), and select Windows Update.

Once the Windows Update webpage appears, click "Scan for Updates". If you are prompted to download/install software from Microsoft Corp. select yes.

After the scan is complete, a summary of critical updates and service packs, updates specific for your operating system, and driver updates will be displayed. Select critical updates and service packs on the left.

You will be displayed with a list of all the available updates for the category you selected. Make sure all the available updates are selected, then select review and install updates.

If you are prompted to download/install software from Microsoft Corp., or if you are presented with a license agreement, select yes.

When the updates are installed you may be prompted to restart the computer.

Once you have all the available critical updates and service packs installed, repeat the above steps but select the Windows updates specific for your operating system in step # 5. The DirectX 9.0b update is a part of the Windows updates, and will be installed during this phase.

Once you have all the available Windows updates specific for your operating system installed, repeat the above steps but select the driver updates in step # 5.
