My macro keyboard stopped working!  What's wrong?

This problem is most frequently caused by inadvertently pressing the accent key on your keyboard and disabling the macro keyboard feature.

You can verify that the macro keyboard is active by examining the "Record" button on the Editor toolbar.  When the record button appears in red, the macro keyboard is active.  A disabled macro keyboard is indicated by a gray Record button.  

You may enable the keyboard macros by simply pressing the accent key (`) on your keyboard, or following the instructions listed below:

  1. While in the editor, click the Tools option on the menu bar

  2. Select Preferences from the Tools menu

  3. Click on the "Keyboard Macros" tab

  4. Place a checkmark in the "Keyboard Macros Enabled" box

  5. Click OK to save the changes

 

Active "Record" button appears in red.

Active Macro

Inactive "Record" button appears in gray.
